No Shave June – Week 3

I believe my manliness increased over the weekend. Sadly not because of the slow growing patch on my face some would call scruff. No, I strapped myself to the end of a rope like a rented mule and helped pull my team to victory in the Tug-o-War at Creative Loafing’s Field Day.  Sorry, I had to quickly at least come up with a reason why I was still manly enough. Now back to the beard.

I have now surpassed three weeks without chopping the facial follicles. As you can see below, parts of it have filled in a lot better especially in the chops. Unfortunately, it has not filled in evenly or wholly. I have a few patches that are still as smooth as a baby’s butt on my neck and parts of my chin. A few of my friends are trying to convince me to keep the stache and goatee. I used to have a goatee in grad-school and I am pretty sure I am over it. The mustache has actually been a painful process. While, it is the fullest most consistent part of my growth, it has also hurt. I think for every bit that grows out, it grows inwards as well. At least that is what the stabbing sensation is comparable to.

I have one more week and then I am done. What remains, we shall see.
